Current obsessions.

1. Demi Lovato
I thought about making Skyscraper the only song on my playlist thing so anyone who visits my blog would be forced to listen to it. But seriously, just listen to #5. You will fall in love.

2. Switched at Birth
Even with its less-than-great acting, extremely fast moving plot, and removal of two amazingly attractive male characters within the first few episodes, this show still manages to make me teary-eyed every Monday night.

3. The Calendar
The fact that I am moving out exactly 3 weeks from today is kind of freaking me out! I still have way too much stuff to do. But I am also very much obsessed with it and I can't wait!

24.

Days until I move out, that is. Less than a month. I don't even know what to do! And 14 days until I am done with Plato's Closet. That place has consumed half my life for the past two years. I am not going to know what to do with myself when I no longer work there. But I feel like it's going to be a good feeling. Better than a good feeling.

The real question is what am I still doing up at 2:30 in the morning, writing a blog post? I don't have an answer. I slept for 16 hours two nights ago so now I can't sleep at all. It's pretty fun.

I don't know what to write about though... My life just consists of living one day at a time and waiting for it to take me somewhere, like to college. But that's still 24 days away.

It's weird how sometimes your best friends are people you have known forever but never became friends with until later. That's how it is with all of my friends. I moved in when I was 12 and I was going to the same church as Danielle for all that time, but we didn't become friends until I was 16. And same with Sierra... We have gone to school together since 7th grade but somehow didn't become friends until senior year. Maybe we were all just trying to fight fate.
If so, I'm pretty happy fate won that one.

Graduation.

High school is over! As of this past Tuesday, I am officially a graduate of Alta High School Class of 2011. What a good feeling. Now to spend the summer living at work before I head off to college in the fall. Crazy.

Stars.

"Through violence you may murder the liar,
but you cannot murder the lie,
nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater,
but you do not murder hate.
In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

April showers.

I figure I need at least one post every month, and as today is the last day of April, I figure I better crank one out.

I've had a hard month. The three AP tests I'm taking in the next two weeks have been the cause of most of my distress. Passing the French one is going to take a literal miracle.
The weather hasn't been helping me out either. The snow has continued all month. I even woke up to a fresh snowfall today. It's sickening.

I've had a lot of time to think this month, maybe even too much. With college looming over my head, and the time living at home winding down, it's really made me wonder where life is going to take me, who is going there with me, and what I want from both of those things. It's a strange feeling. I haven't really figured it out yet. Who has more influence on your future? People you knew, the ones you know, or who you will know in the future? Or are there a few that cross into all three that will really make the most difference? Only time can tell, I guess.

MZ.

I just got back from a speech by Mark Zuckerburg, the creator of Facebook! I have not seen the movie about him, but I was still surprised to see him be a cool, down to earth guy. It was in a Q&A interview type format with Orrin Hatch, the Utah senator, but Mark showed up in jeans and a hoodie, which I thought was great.

I wouldn't say it was a very inspirational speech or anything like that, but he did have a few points which I think are worthy of mentioning:

It's as much about psychology as it is about technology.
In order to create a great company, it is necessary to hire people that are passionate about what they do, and instead of seeking to fill a position, they create it for themselves.
The biggest qualification one needs is passion. With that, anyone can change the world.

Consequences.

"Our freedom to choose our course of conduct does not provide personal freedom from the consequences of our performances."
